On-grid systems that do not need batteries and are directly connected to the public electricity grid (PLN). Any excess solar power that you generate is exported to PLN and any extra power that you need is imported from PLN. Used in areas where there is PLN. Main purpose is to reduce PLN Monthly bill. Off- Grid Micro Grids

Offgrid systems or also known as stand alone PV (photovoltaic) system are installed in remote areas where there is no public grid (PLN) yet. These systems need batteries to store energy to be used during the night and in days with low sun light. Backup generator could be added to the system to increase its reliability. Main purpose is to provide electricity for clients in remote areas. Most expensive system. In an off-grid / hybrid system, the battery capacity must take into account the reserves in case of bad weather conditions which result in less than optimal production of solar energy. Besides, the high cost of batteries and off-grid inverters means off-grid systems are much more expensive than on-grid systems and so are usually only needed in more remote areas that are far from the electricity grid. However battery costs are reducing rapidly, so there is now a growing market for off-grid solar battery systems even in cities and towns.

Solar Lighting

  • Solar panel street lighting or also called Penerangan Jalan Umum Tenaga Surya (PJUTS) is street lighting that uses sunlight as a source of electrical energy. PJUTS is very suitable for areas that have not been reached by PLN electricity and areas without electricity, especially in remote areas. PJUTS are an inexpensive and economical alternative to use as a source of electricity for pju because they use a direct energy source from the sun.
  • PJUTS is a Off-Grid Solar Panel System application for street / area lighting using batteries that are charged from sunlight as its energy source. PJUTS lights are designed to light up to 12 hours per day, with the setting turning on automatically in the afternoon and then going out in the morning.
  • One of the obstacles that is often found in PJUTS systems is related to the battery, such as the battery deteriorates quickly because most people prefer low-priced batteries but the quality is poor. In fact, if the battery voltage decreases, the lumen of light produced by the lamp will also decrease or become dim. To overcome these obstacles, careful planning is needed in selecting each component in designing the PJUTS system, so that you do not spend twice as much. The most important consideration is material quality and specifications, not fixated on the battery price or the lowest price of LED road lights.
